Property Located at 1501 Central Street WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public hearing on November 20, 1984 upon the application by Northwestern University for a special use pursuant to Section 6-6-5(C)la of the Zoning Ordinance to permit a Home Show in McGaw Hall on March 22nd through 24th of 1985, and thereafter one such show in March or April of 1986 through 1991, said application concerning 1501 Central Street, Evanston, Illinois, property l located in a U5 University Athletic Facilities District; said public hearing having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by law; and �i WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the !� application for said special use be granted in part and denied in part; lI NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: li SECTION 1: That the application of Northwestern University for a IIspecial use pursuant to Section 6-6-5(C)la of the IIZoning Ordinance to permit a Home Show in McGaw Hall on March 22nd through i� March 24th of 1985 at 1501 Central Street, Evanston, Illinois, and legally described as follows: �i Lot 17, except the West 4.30 acres thereof and except that part lying west of the west line of Ashland Avenue and south of the center line, extended east, of the 16 foot alley which lies south i of and adjoining Lot 4 and.north of and adjoining Lots 5, 6, 7 I and 8, in the Resubdivision of Lots 1, 2, 3 and 4, in Block 36 ;i of "North Evanston"; also, All of Lot 18, except the East 4.0 feet of the North 465.92 feet i thereof; also, i� The west half of Lot 19, except the North 465.92 feet thereof and except the East 45.0 feet lying north of a line 326.0 feet north from and parallel with the north line of Central Street; also, I 11/26/8,, 12/11/84 • • j 143-0-84 Excepting therefrom that part bounded and described as follows: Commencing at the point of intersection of the North line of Central Street with the East line of the West half of said Lot 19 and running thence west along the North line of Central Street, a distance of 143.0 feet; thence north parallel to said East line of the West half of Lot 19, a distance of 150.00 feet; thence east parallel to the South line of said Lot 19 a distance of 68 0 feet to a point 75.0 feet west of said East line of West half of Lot 19; thence north parallel to said East line of the West half of Lot 19, a distance of 176.0 feet to a point 326.00 feet north of the North line of Central Street; thence east parallel to said South line of Lot 19, a distance of 75.00 feet to an intersection with said East line or the West half of Lot 19; and thence south along the East line of the West half of Lot 19, a distance of 326.00 feet to the point of beginning; Excepting from the above, certain streets opened and used in George Smith's Subdivision of the South part of the Archange Ouilmette Reservation (situated in Township 42 North, Range 13 East of the Third Principal Meridian) his granted subject to the provision of free parking to persons attending the Home Show and compliance with all other applicable provisions of the Zoning Ordinance of the City Code of the City of Evanston, as amended, and gall other applicable laws. SECTION 2: That said special use be further subject to the following! conditions: (a) free parking, (b) security for parking, ,;and (c) the provision of traffic control devices (including personnel) to ! ensure the free flow of traffic and safety and security of traffic flow. SECTION 3: That the application of Northwestern University for a special use pursuant to Section 6-6-5(C)la of the Zoning Ordinance to permit a Home Show in McGaw Hall in March or April of 1986 through 1991, located at 1501 Central Street, is denied. i� SECTION 4: The Director of Building and Zoning is ordered and directed to grant such permits or certificates of Coccupancy as shall be required to effectuate the recommendations of the ':Zoning Board of Appeals and the special use granted thereunder. SECTION 5: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the ;manner provided by law. -2- 11/26/8-i 12/11/84 143-0-84 SECTION 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
