AN ORDINANCE
Granting a Variation and Special
Uses at 2650 Ridge Avenue
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a
public hearing on June 19, 1984 upon the application -of
Evanston Hospital for a variation from the building height s'
regulations of the Zoning Ordinance and a special hospital use;
to permit extension of a stairway to the sixth floor and
enclosure of said stairway from grade to the sixth floor; and a
special hospital use to permit construction of a two-story
addition for a cafeteria, doctors' dining room, and two meeting
rooms on property located at 2650 Ridge Avenue in an R6 General

Residence District; said hearing having been conducted pursuant
to notice and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by
law; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended
that the application for said variation and special uses be
granted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY.OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the application of Evanston Hospital
for a variation from the building height
regulations of the zoning Ordinance and a special hospital use
to permit extension of a stairway to the sixth floor and
enclosure of said stairway from grade to the sixth floor; and
for a special hospital use to permit construction of a
two-story addition for a cafeteria, doctors', dining room, and
two meeting rooms on property located at 2650 Ridge Avenue,
Evanston, Illinois and legally described as follows:
• Evanston Hospital Consolidation of various Blocks, Lots,
Street and alley in the S.W. 1/4 and in the S.E. 1/4 of
Section 35, Township 42 N., Range 13 East of the Third
Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois, recorded as
document number 25738773
is granted, subject to compliance with all other provisions of

the Zoning Ordinance, other applicable laws and the condition
that said projects be constructed in substantial compliance
with the plans filed in connection with this application.
SECTION 2: The Director of Building and Zoning is
hereby directed to issue such permits
pursuant to the terms of this ordinance.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
