HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1984-086-O-846/6/84 7 • E:7:�iII:M AN ORDINANCE Granting a Special Use at 2020 Greenwood WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public hearing May 15, 1984 upon the application of E. N. Scully & Sons as beneficiary of the LaSalle National Bank Trust 10-31503-09, for a special use to permit construction of a one-story addition and three raw -material storage silos for use in conjunction with the manufacturing and warehousing of plastics at 2020 Greenwood Street, property located in an M3 Restricted Manufacturing District; said hearing having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the application for said special use be granted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the application E. N. Scully & Sons as beneficiary of the LaSalle National Bank Trust 10-31503-09, for a special use to permit construction of a one-story addition and three raw -material storage silos for use in conjunction with the manufacturing and warehousing of plastics at 2020 Greenwood Street, Evanston, Illinois, and legally described as: That part of the S 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 (except the North 71-1/2 feet thereof, and except the South 33 feet thereof reserved for street) in Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian (lying Westerly of the -right of way of the Junction Railway Company) described as follows: Commencing on the South line of Greenwood Street (as the same is occupied) at a point 433 feet East of the center line of Hartrey Avenue; thence North 900 East on the South line of Greenwood Street, 503.61 feet to the Westerly right of way line of the Junction Railway Company; thence South 24018-1/2' West along the Westerly right of way line of said Junction Railway Company, 237.90 feet to the center of a switch track; thence Southwesterly along the center W 0 • of the switch track (having a radius o'f 319.60 feet and convex to the Southeast), a distance of 200 feet, more or less, to a point, said point being South 72016-1/2' West, 197.07 feet, when measured on the long chord of the switch track curve; thence South 87052-1/2' West, along the center line of the switch track, 229.56 feet, more or less, to a point in a line 433 feet East of and parallel with the center line of Hartrey Avenue; thence North 2016' East, 285.54 feet to the place of beginning, all in Cook County, Illinois, and containing 120,255 square feet.' ALSO That part of the S 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of the SW 1/4 (except the North 71.50 feet thereof) and (except the South 33 feet thereof reserved for street) in Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian, lying West of the right of way of the Junction Railway Company described as follows: Commencing on the South line of Greenwood Street at a point, 423 feet East of the center line of Hartrey Avenue; thence East alone the South line of Greenwood Street 10 feet; thence South 260 feet on a line 433 feet, east of and parallel to the center line of Hartrey Avenue; thence West 10 feet on a line 260 feet South of and parallel to the South line of Greenwood Street; thence North 260 feet to the place of beginning. EXCEPT FROM THE ABOVE DESCRIBED THAT PART THEREOF DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS: Commencing at a point 433 feet East of the center line of Hartrey Avenue, and 263 feet half inch South of the south. line of Greenwood Street; thence East 110 feet along a line 22.50 feet North of and parallel to the center line of a switch track; thence South 22.50 feet to the center line of said switch track; thence West 110 feet along the center line of said switch track; thence North 22.50 feet on a line 433 feet, East of and parallel to the center of Hartrey Avenue, to the place of beginning. ALSO Easement on and over switch tracks constructed across Southerly portion of the land for benefit of owners and those using lands adjoining said switch tracks created by instrument recorded January 15, 1927 as Document 923093 and set forth in instrument recorded January 17, 1927 as Document 9523306, Grant dated September 1, 1949 and recorded September 23, 1949 as Document 14639273 from Lanteen Laboratories, Inc., a Corporation of Illinois to Public Service Company of Northern Illinois, a Corporation of Illinois, and the Illinois Bell Telephone Company, a Corporation of Illinois of the right, permission and authority to construct, maintain, relocate, renew, and operate equipment consisting of poles, pole structures, push poles, anchors, guys, stub and other necessary electrical facilities upon, along, over and under the Easterly 5 feet of the Northerly 5 feet of Southerly 17 feet of the land and to transmit and distribute by means of said equipment electricity and to lay, maintain, renew and operate gas mains, fixtures and other necessary gas facilities upon, along and under said property, and also to trim such trees, bushes and saplings as may be reasonably required incident to the Grant made by Central National Bank in Chicago, trustee under Trust No. 736 in Deed to Mildred M. Mourecek dated May 11, 1949 and recorded May 19, 1949 as Document 14556042 of perpetual non-exclusive easement and right to move freight, and freight cars on, over, and along the center switch on lead track extending in an Easterly to Northeasterly direction from the Southwest corner of the land to the railroad -2- I� i 86-0-84 � I tracks of the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad, subject .,. i to a like non-exclusive easement and right of Grantor therein and other parties who may own or use land ;i adjoining of abutting said switch track.
