AN ORDINANCE
Granting a Special Use
to Permit Expansion
of a Child Care Institution
at 2200 Main Street
WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public
hearing on June 19, 1984 upon the application by the Infant Welfare Society
' of Evanston, Inc., for a special use to permit expansion of a child care
institution by construction of a one-story ten foot by twelve foot addition
on the east side of the existing building on property located at 2200 Main
Street, said property located in a B1 Business District; said public hearing
having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication.thereof in the manner

prescribed by law; and
i. WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the
application for said special use be granted;
i NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That the application of the Infant Welfare Society of
Evanston, Inc., for a special use to permit expansion

i, of a child care institution by construction of a one-story, ten foot by
twelve foot addition to the east side of the existing building on the
�j property located at 2200 Main Street, Evanston, Illinois, and legally
described as follows:
Lots 1 and 2 in Block 2 (except the West 5.0 feet of said Lots)
i in Traver's Subdivision of the North 1/2 of the Middle 1/3 of
the North 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 24, Township 41
North, Range 13 East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook
County, Illinois
is granted subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning
Ordinance, other applicable laws and the following conditions:
(a) that said addition be constructed in substantial compliance
with the plans placed on file in connection with this
• application, and

(b) that plantings be installed to partially screen the proposed
addition from view to the south and fast.

SECTION 2: The Director of Building and Zoning is ordered and

directed to grant such permits or certificates of
occupancy as shall be required to effectuate the recommendations of the
Zoning Board of Appeals, and the variations granted thereunder.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from

provided by law.
