OF THE,.CITY OF !1 EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That Section 4-2-1 of the City Code of �+ the City of Evanston, 1979, as amended, be ancl.is heieby further amended by adding subsection (G) to read as follows: i! (G) li , {' 1. Written notice stating the date on which work is 4 to begin shall be given to the Dir'dctor of Building fl and Zoning and to owners/occuuant5'•`•of adjoining i� property at least forty-eight (4.8 )` hours before �i beginning the wrecking, demolishing or razing.of any building or other structure. fj 2. On completion of demolition, th�•site shall be 'i filled where necessary with clean soil, cinders or 1 other inorganic material and graded -:to the level of ff sidewalks, alleys or adjoining property with �i allowance for settlement. ' if 3. Debris caused from the demolition of a building or structure in excess of that required to fill openings shall be removed from the Site as wrecking i progresses. Salvaged material, if -left on the premises, shall be neatly stored.'•Debris shall be ! kept from adjacent properties and public ways at all times. 4. During the erection,.alteration;.or demolition of any building, any temporary structure erected adjacent to or on any public way, trsed as•temporary storage for debris and wreckage, small be outfitted with reflective•orange material outlining every top and bottom corner of said temporary -structure, which reflective material will be visible when struck by headlight beams three hundred (300).•feet away at night. Said markings shall be approved by the City Engineer. . 5. Where required in this section..cr by the Director of Building & Zoning, the protection'of sidewalks or other public ways, sidewalk sheds,. -fences and barricades shall comply with the f97.11 owing requirements: a. Sidewalk sheds shall consist of a roof deck extending over the entire sidewalk, together with its supporting structural framework. The roof deck shall be constructed of not less than two layers of two-inch planking or of other approved materials of equal strength and shall be designed -to support a • • • �! 51-0-84 superimposed load of not less than two hundred fifty (250) pounds per square foot. , 's b.
