HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1984-033-O-84• 3/5/84 i 33rO-84 AN ORDINANCE • Granting an Application ' by Evanston Hospital for Special Use" and Variations of the Zoning Ordinance ' WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals- conducted a public hearing on February 21, 1984 upon the application of.''�'vanston Hospital for: (A) a special hospital use to permit construction of�4n oxygen storage facility and enclosure; (B) a special use to permit -installation of two _ identification signs for a -lawfully established non-residential use; (C) a special use and variation from the yard obstruction i� gulations of the Zoning Ordinance to permit installations of five identification signs for lawfully established non-residential uses in required yards;.,(D) variations from the sign regulations of the Zoning Ordinance to permit installation of sixty-two signs which are of a type and size not permitted in t-: a district; and (E) variations from the sign regulations and yard obstruction regulations to permit • installation of twenty-two signs which are of a type and size not permitted in the district, and which are proposed to be located in required yards, said application concerning 2650 Ridge Avenue, Evanston,',•Illinois, property located in an R6 General Residence District; said public hearing having been conducted -)- pursuant to notice and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by law; and r� U WHEREAS, the Zoning'Board of Appeals has recommended that the application for said variations -and special uses be granted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITYxCOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS•:. _ • i SECTION 1: That the application of Evanston Hospital for special uses and variations described.:.heretofore at 2650 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, Illinois, and legally described as follows: A 3/ 5/ 84 33-0-84 Blocks 9 and 16 and 17 (except the West 60 feet of the South 120 feet of said Block 17 ).--°-tn -University Subdivision -of Lots 21, 22 and the South Half of Lot 20 in George Smith's Subdivision of the South part of Archange Quilmette Reservation, excepting from said • Blocks 9,16 and 17 those parts thereof taken and used for streets; Also, Lots Ito 56, all inclusive, together with that part of vacated Garrison Avenue lying West of and,.a•djoining Lots 15 to 28, inclusive, and East of and adjoining Lots.29 to 42, inclusive, and that part of the vacated alley lying West Af and adjoining Lots 29 to 42, inclusive, and East of and adjoining Lots 43 to 56, inclusive, all in Block 8 in Ira Brown's Subdivision of Blocks 5 to 8, in University Subdivision of Lots 21 and..22 and the South half. of Lot 20 of George Smith's Subdivision of. —the South part of Archange Quilmette Reservation; Also, Lot 35 (except the North 3.30 feet thereof), all of Lots 36 and 37, and the South 13.30 feet of Lot 38, together with that -part of the vacated alley lying East of and adjoining Lot 37 and the South 13.30 feet of Lot 38, all in Block 1, in the University Subdivision of Lots 21, 22 and the South half of Lot 20 in George Smith's Subdivision of the South part of Archange Quilmette Reservation; Also, Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 (except that part described as follows: Beginning at the Northeast corner of Lot 7 running West on the North boundary line of Lot 7 to the Northwest corner of Lot 7; thence South on the West boundary lines of Lots 7 and 8 a distance of 40 feet; thence East parallel with the North boundary line of Lot 7 and 40 feet distant therefrom, to the East boundary line of said lot 8; thence North on the East boundary lines of Lots 8 and 7 to the place of'beginning) in Block 1 in University Subdivision of Lots 21 and 22 and the South half of Lot 20 in George Smith's Sub- division of -part of Archange Quilmette Reservation, (excepting from the above described property that part thereof, if any, lying within the North 16:67 feet of said Lot 8}; all in the Southwest 1/4 of Section 35, Township 42 North, Range 13 East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois is granted subject to compliance with all other applicable provisions of the Zoning Ordinance of the City Code of the City of Evanston, 1979, as amended, and all other applicable laws.* SECTION 2: The Director of Building and Zoning is ordered and directed to grant such permits'.or certificates of x occupancy as shall be requi.red.:to.gffectua:te the recommendations of the Zoning Board of Appeals, and the variations granted.•.thereunder.•.
