SECTION 1: That Section 10-4-13 of the City Code of the City of Evanston, 1979, as amended, be and hereby is further amended to read as follows: , 10-4-13: SNOW EMERGENCY; PARKING, OTHER RESTRICTIONS: (A) Definition: A "snow emergency" is hereby declared to be in effect"" rA immediately after four inches (4") of snow have accumulated and , f1 • shall remain in effect for the period of twenty four (24) hours f, thereafter or until the snow has been plowed to the curb lines. (B) Snow Routes Designated: To facilitate the removal of snow and to w assure the regular flow of traffic during and after snowfalls, the . streets and public thoroughfares designated in Schedule VI, Section 10-11-6 of this Title, are declared to be snow routes., / rw' s (C) Stopping, Standing, Parking Prohibited: eryF 1. Snow Route Parking Ban: When signs have been erected giving notice thereof, it shall be unlawful for any person to stop, stand, i park or leave unattended any motor vehicle upon a designated snow :A. route within the City from eleven (11:00) P.M. to -six (6:00) A.M. . after two inches (2") of snow have accumulated. The snow route parking ban shall remain in effect for a period of twenty four (24) hours thereafteror until the snow has been plowed to the curb line. 2. Snow Emergency: On all streets within the City limits, other than snow routes where signs have been erected giving notice there- of, and when a snow emergency has been declared as defined in sub- section (A) hereof, parking is hereby prohibited from December 1 through March 31 on the even street number side of the street on ,.,�• •� even dates of the month and on the odd street number side of the `' • street on odd dates of the month between the hours of nine o'clock (9:00) A.M. and nine o'clock (9:00) P.M. (D) Movement of Parked Vehicles: Whenever a motor vehicle has been stopped, parking or left unattended after the inception of a Snow, �� Emergency, or a snow route parking ban, upon a designated snow route tow away zone, or anywhere within the City, said vehicle is hereby declared to be a traffic hazard and the Chief of Police shall order said motor vehicle removed pursuant to the provisions ` of Chapter 6 of this Title, or other posted tow away zone within the City. .f �'; i�w • • L Ate/ J/ .J,� I �f E �µ iPfv �zv , �Y .�yyygK++Y�y Y tk.•[yYj.`�3 �Ac 139-0-85 i(E) Snow Removal, Deposit in Certain Places Prohibited: 1. No person shall deposit or cause to be deposited any snow upon any street or public thoroughfare. 2. No person shall deposit or cause to be deposited upon any street or public thoroughfare of the City in such a manner as to obstruct a public sidewalk nor shall any person deposit or cause to'be deposited any snow upon a parkway or upon private property so as to obstruct a clear view at the intersection of traveled roadways. SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
