HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1985-108-O-859/19/85 10/2/85 • 108-0-85 AN ORDINANCE Amending the Evanston Zoning Ordinance by Rezoning 1900 Lake Street WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston referred to the Zoning Amendment Committee a proposal to amend the Evanston Zoning Ordinance by rezoning the property described herein; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Amendment Committee conducted public hearings on August 1 and September 5, 1985 to consider said amendment to the Evanston Zoning Ordinance pursuant to notice and publication in the manner prescribed by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Amendment Committee has recommended, based on evidence presented at those public hearings, findings of fact, consideration of existing conditions, conservation of property values and the direction of building development to the best advantage of the entire City, that the Evanston Zoning Ordinance be amended; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED ,BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, adopted November 21, 1960, as amended, be and hereby is further amended by reclassifying from R3 Two -Family District to M3 Manufacturing District the property located at the southwest corner of Lake ..Street and Dodge Avenue and legally described as follows: That part of Block 6 in C.E. Browne's Addition to Evanston, in the Southwest Quarter of Section 13, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian, described as follows: Commencing at a point on the center line of the vacated most Northerly East-West alley extended, measured at right angles to the center line of the existing single remaining Northwestern Railroad Track (within the Northwestern Railroad right-of-way) a distance of 25'. Then Northeasterly parallel with said center line of said track to the west line of Dodge Avenue, a distance of 130 feet more or less. Then North v • along the West line of Dodge Avenue a distance of 38.08 feet, more or less, to the South line of Lake Avenue. Then westerly a distance of 18.71 feet more or less. Then Southwesterly along a line parallel with the center line of the old Northwestern Railroad' right-of-way, which line is fifty feet northwesterly of the old Northwestern Railroad right-of-way, measured at right angles, a distance of 172 feet, more or less, to a point on the center line of the said most Northerly vacated alley. Then East to the point of beginning. Also included is that half of both the Lake Street and Dodge Avenue rights -of -way which abut the above described property, commonly known as 1900 Lake Street. SECTION 2: The official district map of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, as amended, shall be further amended in accordance with the reclassification set forth in this ordinance. SECTION 3: All ordinances of parts of ordinances i in conflict herewith are hereby repealed_. SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
