HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1985-054-O-85Z SjLI.,, 1; C 54-0-85 AN ORDINANCE Regulating the Presence of Trespassers in.Public School Buildings and Grounds BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That Section 9-12-2 "DEFINITIONS" of the City Code of li the City of Evanston, 1979, as amended, be and is further amended to read as follows: 9-12-2: DEFINITIONS: The following words, terms and phrases when used in this ordinance have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning. 'I MINOR A person who has attained eleven (11) years of age but who has not yet reached seventeen (17) years of age. NOTICE Within the meaning of this ordinance, either personal notice, orally or in writing, or if a printed or written notice forbidding entry to an individual or a group of which he/she is a part, has been conspicuously posted or exhibited at the main entrance to such lands or • � buildings. PUBLIC SCHOOL Any buildings, grounds, play area, parking lot, driveway, BUILDINGS AND or athletic field belonging to or under the control and GROUNDS supervision of Evanston Township High School .District 202 and Evanston School District 65. TRESPASSER Any person who enters upon school lands or in school Ii buildings after receiving notice that such entry is forbidden, or remains upon such land or in such building after receiving oral or written notice to depart from any person authorized by the appropriate School Board to provide such notice. Words singular in form include the plural; any words plural in form include the singular; and words in the masculine gender shall include the feminine and neuter genders.
