HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1986-120-O-8611/4/86 11/6/86 120-0-86 AN ORDINANCE Amending the Evanston Zoning Ordinance by Rezoning from R2 Single -Family Residence District to B1 Business District Certain Vacant Property Located West of 2516 to 2536 Gross Point Road and South of the • City of Evanston Elevated Water Storage Tank WHEREAS, the Zoning Amendment Committee conducted public hearings on.October 2, 1986 and October 16, 1986 to consider the petition by "Gross Point Center" to amend the Evanston Zoning Ordinance by rezoning from R2 Single -Family Residence District to B1 Business District certain vacant property located west of 2516 to 2536 Gross Point Road and south of the City of Evanston elevated water storage tank, said hearing having been held pursuant.to notice and publication in the manner prescribed by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Amendment Committee has recommended., based on evidence presented at those public hearings, findings of fact, consideration of existing • conditions, conservation of property values and the direction of building development to the best advantage of the entire City, that the Evanston Zoning Ordinance be amended; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, adopted December 4, 1978, as amended, be and is hereby further amended by reclassifying from R2 Single -Family Residence District to B1 Business District the vacant property located west of 2516 to 2536 Gross Point Road and south of the City of Evanston elevated water storage tank and legally described as: Lots 1, 2, and 3 in bandeck's Division of Lot 2 of Evert and Schaefer's Subdivision of part of the Northeast Fractional Quarter of Section 10, Township 41 North, Range • 13 East of the Third Principal Meridian, including the full width of all abutting private streets and private alleys. SECTION 2: The Director of Building & Zoning is hereby directed to issue a permit for the property described'in Section 1 herein in accordance with 120-0-86 the terms of this ordinance. SECTION 3: The official district map of the Evanston Zoning Ordinance, as amended, shall be • further amended in accordance with the reclassification set forth in this ordinance. SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 5: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, and approval in the manner provided by law. Introduced: 94� �CJ 1986.
