HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1986-119-O-86119-0-86 AN ORDINANCE • Authorizing the Sale by Public Auction of Personal Property Owned by the City of Evanston WHEREAS, in the opinion of at least three -fourths of the corporate authorities of the City of Evanston, it is no longer necessary or useful to or for the best interests of the City of Evanston to retain' ownership of the personal property hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Mayor and City Council of the City of Evanston to sell said personal property at a public auction to be held on Saturday, November 1, 1986 at 11:00 A.M.; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL; I OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON: • SECTION 1: That Pursuant to Section 11-76-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code, Illinois Revised Statutes, C24, Section 11-7-4, the Mayor and City Council of the City of Evanston find that the following described personal property: UNIT NO YEAR MAKE MODEL SERIAL NUMBER MINIMUM VALUE 564 1968 Barber Beach Rake 609 $ 650 111 1971 Gerstenlage Bookmobile 34247 2,000; 147 1978 Chevrolet Van CGO1684160367 200 now owned by the City of Evanston is no longer necessary or useful to the City' of Evanston and the best interests of the City of Evanston will be served by'• i its sale. SECTION 2: Pursuant to said Section 11-76-4, the City: • Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sell the aforementioned personal property. now owned by the City of Evanston, at public auction on Saturday, November 1, 1986 at 11:00 A.M. at the Evanston Service Center, 2020 Asbury, Evanston, Illinois, to the highest bidder on said property. SECTION 3: The City Manager is hereby authorized and may, direct the Northwest Municipal Conference to advertise the sale of th4 aforementioned personal property in a newspaper within the community befor the date of said public auction. SECTION 4: 'No bid which is less than the minimum price sei for in the list of property to be sold shall be accepted. SECTION 5: The City Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the Northwest Municipal Conference to enter into an agreement for the sale of said personal property. SECTION 6: Upon payment of the full auction price, the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to convey amd transfer title to the aforesaid peoperty, to the successful bidder. I I SECTION 7: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect • from and after its passage, by a vote of at least three -fourths of the i corporate authorities, and approval in the manner provided by law.
