AN ORDINANCE
Vacating a Portion of Crain Street
East of Grey Avenue
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That a portion of Crain Street lying
east of Grey Avenue within the abandoned
Chicago and North Western Transportation Company Right -of -Way
and legally described as follows:
That part of Crain Street lying South of the North line of
Grover and Pitner's Addition to Evanston; lying North of
the North line of Lot 1 in Block 1 in Grover and Pitner's
Addition to Evanston aforesaid, bounded on the East by a
line drawn 65 feet Southeasterly, measured at right
angles, from the center line between the two main tracks
of the Junction Railway Company (now the Chicago and North
Western Transportation Company), as said center line was
originally located and established, and bounded on the
West by a line drawn 65 feet Northwesterly, measured at
right angles, from said original center line between the
two main tracks; in the Northeast 1/4 of the Northwest 1/4
of Section 24, Township 41 North, Range 13, East of the
Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois,
as indicated by the words "Hereby Vacated" on the Plat of
Vacation attached hereto and, for greater certainty,
incorporated into this ordinance, be and hereby are vacated and
closed, inasmuch as the corporate authorities, of the City of
Evanston have determined that the public interest will be
served by the aforesaid vacation, provided that said vacation
shall be subject to the following terms and conditions:
(A) That the adjoining property owners who shall receive
the benefit of this vacation shall pay to the City of i
Evanston the total sum of Two Thousand Eight Hundred
Thirty-five and 00/100ths Dollars ($2,835.00) in
consideration of and for said vacation.
(B) That said vacation shall be subject to the usual
easements for public utilities, including, but not
limited to, such rights -of -way, license and easement
rights to such equipment as is presently installed
and located on those portions of the public
right-of-way hereby closed and the rights of ingress
and egress for the maintenance, renewal and
reconstruction thereof.
(C) That a statement from the County Clerk is endorsed

.the Plat of Vacation showing that no delinquent
general taxes, unpaid current general taxes, '
delinquent special assessments or unpaid current
special assessments are against the aforedescribed
land.
SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances
in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage,
approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
