BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That Section 10-11-17 of the City Code of the City of Evanston, 1979, as amended, is hereby amended to read as follows: SCHEDULE XVII, PARKING VIOLATION PENALTIES: The following penalties are hereby established as fines for violation of the parking provisions hereinafter enumerated: .(A) Penalty: $5.00 plus $5.00 additional penalty if paid after the expiration of ten (10) days from the date of issue. 1. Expired meter parking 10-5-4 (B) 2. Parking at meter in excess of time limit 10-5-4 (C) 3. Alley parking, signed residence districts .10-4-5 (C) 4. Business district for selling merchandise 10-4-3 5. Alley parking, business district 10-4-5 (A) 6. Non -passenger vehicles in residential district 10-4-5 (B) 7. Private property (signed) 10-4-6 8. Improper parking position 10-4-8 9. Passenger loading zones 10-4-14-3 (A) 10. Freight loading zones 10-4-14-3 (B) 11. Bus and taxicab stands 10-4-14-6 12. Improper use of stops and stands by buses and taxicabs 10-4-1475 13. Vehicles in violation of posted.street cleaning signs 10-4-12 (C) Snow Emergency Penalty: 1. Snow Route: Vehicles on a snow route, as defined in Section 10-11-6 and 10-4-130), (C) and (D) while a snow emergency is in effect, shall pay a penalty of $50.00 plus $20.00 additional penalty if paid after the expiration of ten (10) days from the date of issue. 2. Snow Emergency: Vehicles illegally parked, as defined in Section 10-4-13(A) and (C), on all streets other than those defined by ordinance to be a snow route shall pay a penalty of $25.00 plus a $25.00 additional penalty if paid after the expiration of ten (10) days from the date of issue. 3. Tow Away and Storage: Vehicles towed from authorized tow -away zones shall be subject to a fine of $35.00 plus a $5.00 a day storage fee. (Ord. 52-0-79). (D) Penalty: $25.00, plus $10.00 additional penalty if paid after the expiration of ten (10) days from the date of issue. Vehicles towed from the authorized zones shall be subject to an additional penalty of $35.00 plus a $5.00 a day storage fee. (Ord. 2-0-80) 1. Ord. 50-0-80) Lot 60 1234-38 Chicago Avenue Lot 61 1620-36 Maple Avenue (Also see (A), this Section) Any violator may avoid prosecution for violating the provisions applicable to parking of motor vehicles before legal action has been brought against him by surrendering the traffic ticket or other notice of violation either received or placed upon a vehicle, and paying to the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Sec- ond Municipal District, within ten (10) days from the date appear- ing on such violation, the sum pertaining to such violation as expressed herein for the violation alleged. Any person making jsuch payment shall receive a receipt therefore from the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Cook County, Second Municipal District. i (_Ord. 52-0-79) { -4- I i January 27, 1986 February 4, 1986 10-11-17 Notwithstanding the specified fines applicable to the violations herein scheduled and additional penalties applicable in the event • of non-payment, the maximum fine to be imposed upon a finding of guilty by a court of competent jurisdiction shall not exceed two hundred dollars ($200.00) for each offense. (Ord. 61-0-81) (E) Penalty: Fifty dollars ($50.00) plus ten dollars ($10.00) addi- tional penalty if paid after the expiration of ten (10) days from the date of issue. Parking in spaces reserved for the mobility limited pursuant to Section 10-4-11(A). (134-0-84) (F) Penalty: Fifty dollars ($50.00) plus ten dollars ($10.00) addi- tional penalty if paid after the expiration of ten (10) days from the date of issue. .
