HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1987-074-O-877/22/87 I 74-0-8i AP, ORDINANCE Authorizing the Conveyance by Negotiation of Certain Real Estate Located at 726 Reba Place, Evanston, Illinois, commonly known as Parking Lot 41 WHEREAS, the City of Evanston is desirous of selling a portion of certain real estate located at 726 Reba Place, Evanston, Illinois, commonly known as Parking Lot 41, said i portion legally described as follows: Lot seven (7) in Block two (2) in Green and Hubbard's Subdivision of the North twelve and forty-six one hundredths (12.46) acres of Lot nine (9) of Assessor's i' Division of the South half of the South West quarter of Section nineteen (19), Township forty-one (41) North, Range Fourteen (14) East of the Third Principal Meridian, k in Cook County, Illinois ! WHEREAS, in the opinion of the corporate authorities I1of the City of Evanston, ownership of said real estate is no ';longer necessary, appropriate, required for the use of, I liprofitable to or in the best interest of the City of Evanston; a r_d I • li WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the City of 'Evanston have determined that the City's best interest would be i'served by the conveyance of said real estate by means of negotiation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF !THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the City Manager or his designee be ;and he is hereby authorized and directed to negotiate the sale of subject property at 726 Reba Place, commonly known as Parking Lot 41, legally described as is Lot seven (7) in Block two (2) in Green and Hubbard's i� Subdivision of the North twelve and forty-six one ! hundredths (12.46) acres of Lot nine (9) of Assessor's I) Division of the South half of the South West quarter of Section nineteen (19), Township forty-one (41) North, j; Range Fourteen (14) East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois •JiSuch negotiations shall include but not be limited to the 74-0-87 p-_,rchase price and any other terms and conditions of conveyance deemed aooropr_at_ he City Manager. Pdrsuan- -c Evanston City Code Section 1-17-4-2(B) an affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of the elected aldermen is required to accept -he recommendation of the City Manager • authorized 'herein. The City Manager reserves the right to reject any and all negotiations. SECTION 2: The City Manager is hereby author- ized and directed to give notice of intent to sell subject real estate as a result of negotiated sale. Such Notice of Intent to Sell must be published at least once in a daily or weekly newspaper in general circulation in the city, not less than 15 nor more than 30 days before the i :date on which the City Council shall consider the adoption of ;;the ordinance directing the sale of subject property. i i' SECTION 3: That the Notice of Intent to Sell subject real estate shall be in lisubstantially the following form: NOTICE OF INTENT TO SELL • AS RESULT OF NEGOTIATION li Public notice is hereby given that on {I 1987, the City Council of the City of Evanston, at its regular meeting at 9:00 P.M. in the City {� Council Chambers of the Evanston Civic Center at 2100 'I Ridge Avenue, proposes to approve the sale of the following legally described real estate, to wit: !� Lot seven (7) in Block two (2) in Green and Hubbard's Subdivision of the North twelve and forty-six one f hundredths (12.46) acres of Lot nine (9) of Ii Assessor's Division of the South half of the South West quarter of Section nineteen (19), Township forty-one (41) North, Range Fourteen (14) East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois commonly known as Parking Lot 41. i Said property is presently used for parking and has been previously authorized by City Council Ordinance 74-0-87 to be sold by negotiation, pursuant to City Code Section 1-17-4-2, at a price and according to terms and conditions determined by the City Manager and approved by City Council . .
