AN ORDINANCE
Amending the Evanston Zoning Ordinance
by Rezoning Certain Properties Located i
between Crain and Greenleaf Streets
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston
referred to the Zoning Amendment Committee a proposal to amend
[the Evanston Zoning Ordinance by rezoning the property
described herein; and
i WHEREAS, the Zoning Amendment Committee conducted a
,public hearing on November 20, 1986 to consider said amendment
to the Evanston Zoning Ordinance pursuant to notice and
publication in the manner prescribed by law; and
WHEREAS, the Zoning Amendment Committee has
recommended, based on evidence presented at those public
hearings, findings of fact, consideration of existing
,conditions, conservation of property values and the direction
ii
of building development to the best advantage of the entire
•!City, that the Evanston Zoning Ordinance be amended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
;;THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

SECTION 1: That the Evanston Zoning Ordinance,
I
adopted December 4, 1978, as amended, be
and hereby is further amended by reclassifying from R6 General
!Residence District to R3 Two -Family Residence District certain
!I
!properties located on Oak Avenue between Crain Street and
jGreenleaf Street as shown on the map attached hereto as Exhibit
A and legally described as follows:
Lots l and 2 of the Anna Rew Gross resubdivision.of Lots
!i 11 and 12 in Block 2, Lots 3-10 in Block 2, and Lots 14-20
in Block 1 all in the Union Addition to Evanston, a
subdivision of the South 1/2 of the Northwest 1/4 of. the
Northwest 1/4 lying east of Ridge Road; also part of Lot 6
of Assessor's Division of the Northwest 1/4 of Section 19,
Township 41 North, Range 14 East of the Third Principal
Meridian in Cook County, Illinois.

'i SECTION 2: The official district map of the
i Evanston Zoning Ordinance, as amended,
11shall be further amended in accordance with the

ireclassification set forth in this ordinance and as shown on

the map attached to and made part of this Ordinance as Exhibit
A.
jl SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances

• i� in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force
j and effect from and after its passage,

liapproval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
