HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1988-011-O-883/l/88 3/9/88 AN ORDINANCE Granting a Special Use at 2126 Ashland Avenue 0 WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public hearing on February 16, 1988 upon the application of the Evanston Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, Inc. for a special use to permit construction of a one-story addition to the existing church at 2128 Ashland Avenue, property located at 2126 Ashland Avenue, Evanston, Illinois in a Cl Commercial District; said public hearing having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the application for said special use be granted; NOW, THEREFORE,�BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That, based upon the evidence and testimony presented at the hearing, and upon deliberations and findings of fact contained in the transcript of the zoning Board of Appeals Case No. 87-33-SU(R), the application of the Evanston Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses, Inc. for a special use to permit construction of a one-story addition to the existing church at 2128 Ashland Avenue, on the property located at 2126 Ashland Avenue, and legally described as follows: Lot 2 in Thayer's Resubdivision of Lots 1 to 8, inclusive, in Block 7 in Payne's Addition to Evanston, a Subdivision in the Southeast 1/4 of Section 12, Township 41 north, Range 13, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois is granted, subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, other applicable laws and the following • conditions: 1. The proposed construction shall be in substantial compliance with the testimony presented, the plans placed on file, and the model presented in connection with this case; • • E 2. The combined occupancy of the two auditoriums shall not exceed ten (10) persons for each off-street i parking space which is supplied in conformity with the off-street parking regulations.of the zoning Ordinance to serve the premises, except that said combined occupancy may be exceeded on five religious holidays of the applicants choosing,in each calendar year. SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
