HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1989-066-O-895-15-89 I� AN ORDINANCE j Granting a Special Use at 1336 Chicago Avenue and 616 Greenwood Street WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals 'conducted a public hearing on March 21, 1989 and April 18, 14989, upon the application of Savings of America for a special ;,use to permit construction of a three -bay drive-in facility ,I (!associated with a savings and loan institution on the property ,;located at 1336 Chicago Avenue and 616 Greenwood Street in a C3 I ,Commercial District; said public hearings having been conducted I' ,!pursuant to notice and publication thereof in the manner ;prescribed by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended I ;!that the application for said special use be granted; I! NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: �j SECTION 1: That, based upon the evidence and testimony presented at the hearing, and �j ;upon deliberations and findings of fact contained in the Ij ;!transcript of the Zoning Board of Appeals Case No. 89-4-SU(R), ;,the application of Savings of America for a special use to permit construction of a three -bay drive-in facility associated with a savings and loan institution on the property located at I� 1i1336 Chicago Avenue and 616 Greenwood Street and legally Iidescribed as follows: li Parcel 1: The North 100 Feet of the East 150 Feet of Block 39 in Evanston, Bound and Described as follows: That Part of t said Block 39 Commencing at the North East Corner of said �j Block 39, being the South West Corner of Greenwood Street and Chicago Avenue Running Thence West along the South !I Line of Greenwood Street, 150 Feet: Thence South Parallel it with the West Line of Chicago Avenue, 100 Feet: Thence East Parallel with the South Line of Greenwood Street 150 Feet to the East Line of said Block 39, being the West !' The proposed construction shall be in substantial compliance with the plans approved by the Planning and Development Committee. 2. The total number of curb cuts serving the financial institution shall be limited to two, one on Sherman Place and one on Greenwood Street; 3. No gates or other obstructions shall be installed which would hinder or prevent ingress and egress to and from the site via the two approved driveways; 4. A maximum of two automatic teller machines may be installed in the principal building provided that they shall be located in or adjacent to the west lobby of the building; 5. The applicant shall dedicate the westernmost 6-Z feet of the property to the City for the purpose of adding to the Sherman Place right-of-way; 6. The subject property shall be consolidated into one lot prior to establishment of the use; 7. Appropriate signage to identify the ten (10) off-street parking spaces reserved for the use of 1406 Chicago Avenue shall be installed; 8. A revised landscape plan shall be submitted to the Site Plan Review Committee indicating thereon the -2- Y species, spacing and planting height of all landscaping which shall be installed in accordance therewith, following approval by the Site Plan Review Committee; 9. The concept and design of any outdoor art, murals or sculptures, shall be subject to a process of review and approval by the Evanston Arts Council or subject to any other process for review and approval which • may be established by said Arts Council; 10. The area lighting for the site shall be of the full cut off type; and 11. The ten (10) off-street parking spaces on the site reserved for the use of the property located at 1406 Chicago Avenue and the Automatic Drive -Up Teller Machine, to be located on site shall be adequately lighted during the hours of darkness. SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law. Introduced: 1989.
