HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1990-086-O-907/23/90 86-0-90 AN ORDINANCE Granting a Special Use Permit at 1930-34 Sherman Avenue • WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA) conducted a public hearing on July 17, 1990, upon the application of Alpha Phi International Fraternity, Inc. (contract purchaser) for a special use to permit construction of an addition to the existing institutional headquarters building for a not -for -profit organization on the property located at 1930-34 Sherman Avenue, in a R6 General Residence District; said public hearing having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof in the manner prescribed by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the application for said special use be granted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: • SECTION 1: That, based upon the evidence and testimony presented at the hearing, and upon deliberations and findings of fact contained in the transcript of the Zoning Board of Appeals Case No. 90-21-SU(R), the application of Alpha Phi International Fraternity, Inc. (contract purchaser) for a special use to permit construction of an addition to the existing institutional headquarters building for a not -for -profit organization on the property located at 1930-34 Sherman Avenue, in a R6 General Residence District and legally described as follows: THE SOUTH 10 FEET OF LOT 4 AND ALL OF LOT 5 TOGETHER WITH LOT 4 EXCEPT THE SOUTH 10 FEET THEREOF IN HUSP. AND POWER'S ADDITION TO EVANSTON, SAID ADDITION BEING A SUBDIVISION OF LOT 7 OF ASSESSOR'S DIVISION IN SECTION 18, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 14 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS. • is granted, subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, other applicable laws and the following conditions: 1 1. The subject property shall be consolidated into one lot of record prior to the issuance of any building permits for the project; 2. The proposed construction shall be in substantial compliance with the testimony presented and the plans placed on file in connection with this case. • SECTION 2: All. ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
