HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1990-050-O-905-15-90 • • • 50-0-90 AN ORDINANCE Vacating a Portion of the Public Alley North of Washington and West of Ridge Avenue BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON/ COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That a portion of the public alley North of Washington and West of Ridge Avenue and legally described as follows: That part of the Northsouth public alley described as follows: Beginning at the Southwest corner of Lot 3 in Block 1 in Geo. M. Huntoon's Addition to Evanston a subdivision of that part of the South 25 rods of the North 1/2 of the Northwest 1/4 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 19; thence Northerly along the East line of alley to the intersecting point on the South line of Lot 4 in resubdivision of Block 5 in Pitner & Sons Addition to Evanston; thence Westerly along said South line of Lot 4 to the Southwest corner of aforesaid Lot 4 in Block 5; thence Southwesterly to the Northeast corner of Lot 4 in Block 1 in aforesaid Geo. M. Huntoon's Addition; thence Southerly along the West line of alley (which is also East line of aforesaid Lot 4 in Geo. M. Huntoon's Addition) to the North ,line of Washington Street; thence Easterly along the North line of Washington Street to the Point o Beginning all in the West 1/2 of the Southwest 1/4 of Section 19, Township 41 North; Range 14 East of the Third Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois as indicated by the words "Hereby Vacated" on the Plat of Vacation attached hereto and, for greater certainty, incorporated into this ordinance, be hereby is vacated and closed, inasmuch as the corporate authorities of the City of Evanston have determined that the public interest will be served by the aforesaid vacation to Children Home and Aid Society of Illinois, provided that said vacation shall be subject to the following terms and conditions: (A) That Children Home and Aid Society of Illinois, the party receiving the benefit of this vacation, shall pay to the City of Evanston the total sum of $18,000 in consideration of and for said vacation; (B) That said vacation shall be subject to the usual easements for public utilities, including, but not limited to, such rights -of -way, license and easement rights to such equipment as is presently installed and located on those portions of the public right-of-way hereby closed and the rights of ingress and egress for the maintenance, renewal and reconstruction thereof; 1 50-0-90 • �7 0 (C) That a statement from the County Clerk is endorsed on the Plat of Vacation showing that no delinquent general taxes, unpaid current general taxes, delinquent special assessments or unpaid current special assessments are against the aforedescribed land. SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
