HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1973-066-R-73• • 0 66-R-73 A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE EVANSTON BICENTENNIAL COMMITTEE AS AN AGENCY FOR PLANNING AND COORDINATING PROPER OBSERVANCE OF THE BICENTENNIAL. WHEREAS, the Bicentennial of the United States will be celebrated in 1976; and WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that an event_ of this magnitude be properly observed in all communities and by all levels of government; and WHEREAS, an Evanston Bicentennial Committee has been formed to promote and facilitate proper observance of this event in Evanston; and WHEREAS, it is desirable that the City Council of Evanston be kept informed as to plans for observing the Bicentennial in Evanston and assist and work with the Evanston Bicentennial Committee in planning proper observances of this event: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Evanston, Illinois: 1. That the City Council of Evanston, Illinois hereby recognizes the Evanston Bicentennial Committee, of which Alderman John O. Wyandt is at present Chairman, and Mrs. Annabelle Frazier is Co -Chairman, , as'a general planning and coordinating agency for proper observance of the Bicentennial in Evanston, Illinois; and 2. That the City Council of Evanston, Illinois expresses willing- ness to cooperate with the Evanston Bicentennial Committee in planning for the proper observance of the Bicentennial in Evanston. AN ADDENDUM TO A.I AGREEMENT PROVIDING FOR A JOINT r CITY -- STATE AGREEMENT ALONG COUNTY HIGHWAY -ROUTE 651 (CRAWFORD AVENUE) STATE SECTION 1971-4 W&RS, • CITY SECTION 109-CS IN THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS WHEREAS, the Department of Transportation, hereinafter called • the STATE, and the City of Evanston, hereinafter.called the CITY, entered into a joint agreement which the City Council of Evanston adopted on July 26, 1971, and the Secretary of the Department of Transportation, to construct County Highway 051 through the corporate limits, and; WHEREAS, the STATE and the CITY both,mutually agree to revise numbered paragraph 10 as follows: 10. Upon completion of the improvement, the CITY agrees to maintain or cause to be maintained, within the CITY limits, all curbs and gutter flags, lighting, the 40 foot pavement, sidewalks, manholes, catch basins, storm sewers, utilities and appurtenances. The CITY will maintain all traffic signals and • furnish the energy for the operation of all traffic signals at the intersection of Old Glenview Road and Crawford Avenue. The STATE retains the right•to control the sequence and timing of the traffic signals. BE IT FURTHER AGREED, that all items contained in the original agreement which are not in conflict with this addendum;shall remain in full effect. • BE IT FURTHER AGREED, that this addendum•to the agreement shall be binding and inurey to the benefit of the parties hereto, their successors and assigns. • CITY OF EVANSTON o BY: �✓ic! % TITLE:.
