HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1973-033-R-73Ls_ _a 0 33-R-73 RESOLUTION Upon the Occasion of the Voluntary Retirement of ALDERMAN JAMES P. McCOURT WHEREAS, ALDERMAN JAMES P. McCOURT served as alderman of the Fourth Ward of the City of Evanston during the years 1961 to 1963, and as alderman of the Ninth Ward of the City of Evanston during the years 1963 to 1973; and WHEREAS, during his tenure as alderman, he served as member and chairman of the former Administration Committee and the Planning and Development Committee; and served as member and/or chairman of the Civic Center Committee, the City Manager Selec- tion Committee; and other special committees; and WHEREAS, ALDERMAN JAMES P. McCOURT has served the citizens of his ward, as well as the citizens of the entire city, with distinction, giving most liberally of his time, energy, and ability: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this City Council on behalf of itself, the Mayor, City Manager, City officials, and the residents of this community, do hereby express great apprec- iation to ALDERMAN JAMES P. McCOURT for his service to the City of Evanston, and regret the occasion of his voluntary retirement as alderman. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be made a part of the permanent records of the city, and that a copy, executed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk, be sent to the said ALDERMAN JAMES P.
