HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1974-060-R-74I] • 60-R-74 RESOLUTION Upon the Occasion of the Death of JOSEPH L. ROSE WHEREAS, JOSEPH L. ROSE departed this life on August 26, 1974; and WHEREAS, JOSEPH L. ROSE was an employee of the City of Evanston for twenty-four years, serving from 1941 until his retire- ment in 1965; and WHEREAS, he served the City in the position of Commissioner of Public Works, Director of Public Works, and Executive Assistant to the City Manager; and WHEREAS, he was very active in the Northeastern Illinois Planning Commission and the Chicago Metropolitan Chapter of the American Public Works Association; and WHEREAS, he was especially interested in the subject of the physical development of the City and took several important steps to encourage this in all aspects of his work; and WHEREAS, he was a resident of the City of Evanston for seventy-eight years and a graduate of Northwestern University; and WHEREAS, Evanston citizens deeply appreciate his interest in serving the citizens of the entire city, giving most liberally of his time, energy and ability; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of Evanston to pay tribute to JOSEPH L. ROSE: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the members of the City Council of the City of Evanston, on behalf of ourselves, the Mayor, the City Manager, the officials, and all citizens of this community, we express our profound regret upon the occasion of the death of JOSEPH L.
