HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1975-036-O-75I it r± i� 11 36-0-75 (i RESOLUTION �I Upon the Occasion of the Retirement of ALDERMAN JOHN K. KNEAFSEY WHEREAS, ALDERMAN JOHN K. KNEAFSEY served as alderman of the Eighth Ward of the City of Evanston during the years 1971 to 1975; and WHEREAS, during his tenure as alderman, he served as a member of the Transportation Committee, as chairman of the Northwestern University Advisory Committee, and as a member and chairman of the Administration and Public Works Committee; and WHEREAS, ALDERMAN KNEAFSEY was instrumental in the passage of Evanston's first liquor ordinance and worked to improve relations between the University and the City; and WHEREAS, he devoted many hours to improvements in his ward i and to greater involvement by citizens of the ward in the ' problems facing the City; and WHEREAS, ALDERMAN JOHN K. KNEAFSEY has served the citizens of his ward, as well as the citizens of the entire city, with ' distinction, giving most liberally of his time, energy, and i ability; I! NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this City Council on i` behalf of itself, the Mayor, City Manager, City officials, and the residents of this community, do hereby express great appre- ciation to ALDERMAN JOHN K. KNEAFSEY for his service to the j_City of Evanston, upon the occasion of his retirement as alderman. I� BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be made a part '1 of the permanent records of the city, and that a copy, executed by the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be sent to the said ALDERMAN JOHN K.
