RESOLUTION
Upon the Occasion of the
Retirement of
ALDERMAN JAMES G. STAPLES
WHEREAS, ALDERMAN JAMES G. STAPLES served as alderman of
the Seventh Ward of the City of Evanston during the years 1971
to 1975; and
WHEREAS, during his tenure as alderman, he served as
member of the Committee on Committees, the Civic Center Committee,
the City -School Liaison Committee, the Legal Assistance Committee,
the Special Committee on Tennis Facilities, and as chairman of
the Transportation Committee and member and chairman of the
Human Services Committee; and as . /Manor fro -Teo"
' WHEREAS, ALDERMAN STAPLES deserves particular commendation
;1for his efforts in making possible the Evanston Housing Rehabili-
tation Ordinance and for his work in restoring bus service to
the city during a most difficult period; and
WHEREAS, ALDERMAN JAMES G. STAPLES has served the citizens
of his ward as well as the citizens of the entire city with
distinction, giving most liberally of his time, energy, and
ability;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that this City Council on
behalf of itself, the Mayor, City Manager, City officials, and
the residents of this community, do hereby express great appre-
ciation to ALDERMAN JAMES G.* STAPLES for his service to the City
of Evanston, and regret the occasion of his retirement as Alderman.!

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be made a part I
of the permanent records of the city, and that a copy, executed by
the Mayor and attested by the City Clerx be sent to the said
ALDEP14AN JAMES G. STAPLES.
