R E S 0 L U T 1 0 N
Designating Signatories for Checks or Warrants
Drawn Aqainst City Bank Accounts
WHEREAS, in accordance with Resolution 68-R-73, all checks or warrants
drawn upon the City Treasurer, except for the checks or warrants drawn upon the
accounts payable and the payroll imprest account, must be signed on a dual
signature basis by the City Treasurer or his .Deputy, and either the Mayor or
City Comptroller, or their respective Deputies and
WHEREAS, all checks or warrants drawn upon the accounts payable imprest
account established by Resolution 28-R-55, and the payroll imprest account
• established by Resolution 17-R-55, must be signed by the City Treasurer or the
Deputy City Treasurer and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to change the signatures of
the accounts payable imprest account and payroll imprest account to the City
Treasurer or the City Comptroller:
NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved that, the following individuals are
authorized signatories of City of Evanston checks and warrants in the capacities
shown:

Edward A. Martin Mayor's Deputy
Gordon E. Copeland City Treasurer
Robert A. Shonk City Comptroller
Donald D. George Deputy City Comptroller
Juan Garza Deputy City Treasurer
NOW, THEREFORE, be it further resolved that Resolution 68-R-73 is hereby

amended to provide that the accounts payable imprest account and payroll imprest
account be signed by the City Treasurer or the City Comptroller.

RESOLUTION
Upon the Occasion of the
Death of
Laurence J. Fitzsimons
WHEREAS, LAURENCE J. FITZSIMONS departed this life on March 10,
1975; and
WHEREAS, LAURENCE J. FITZSIMONS was elected to the Evanston
District 65 School Board in 1969 and chosen its President four years
later; and
WHEREAS, LAURENCE J. FITZSIMONS was a former Director of the Main
Street Neighborhood Association; active in the Evanston Mental Health
Association; and the Lay Advisory Council of Evanston Township High School;
and
WHEREAS, LAURENCE J. FITZSIMONS was a prominent community leader,
possessed a warm gentle personality characterized by wit, sensitivity,
wisdom, a great sense of humor and kindness; and
WHEREAS, Evanston citizens deeply appreciate his interest in
serving the School District and the community and his liberal donation
of time, energy, and abilities; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of Evanston to pay
tribute to LAURENCE J. FITZSIMONS:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Members of the City Council
of the City of Evanston on behalf of ourselves, the Mayor, the City Manager,
the officials, and all citizens of this community, we express our profound
regret upon the occasion of the death of LAURENCE J. FITZSIMONS, and tender
to his bereaved wife, Constance, and members of his family our heartfelt
sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution be made a part of the
permanent records of the City and that a suitable copy thereof, signed by
. the Mayor and attested by the City Clerk be sent to the members of his
bereaved family.
