RESOLUTION
• Authorizing use of Community Development Block Grant
Funds for Administrative Expenses of the Evanston
Community Development Corporation
WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council, with passage of City Resolution
9-R-76, did approve an application for Community Development Block Grant.
entitlement funds and did direct the City Manager to.file said application
with the U. S.•Department of Housing and Urban Development; and
WHEREAS, the City's application was approved on June 24, 1976, by said
U. S. Department; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Committee has received a funding
request from the Evanston Community Development Corporation (ECDC) which
would require that the City's second year application be revised and did set
aside a meeting to hear public opinion on said request according to the City's
Community Development Citizen Participation Plan; and
• WHEREAS, the Community Development Committee has approved said request,
which seeks partial funding of the ECDC's administration staff, up to an
amount equal to the balance remaining in the City's Unspecified Local Option
account after the rehabilitation cost of 1817 Church Street has been funded;
and
WHEREAS, said remaining balance will probably not exceed twenty-three
thousand dollars- ($23,000).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, hereby authorizes the balance remaining in
the Community Development Block Grant Unspecified Local Option account after
the rehabilitation of 1817 Church Street has been funded to be used to provide
partial funding of the Evanston Community Development Corporation's adminis-
trative expenses.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, the City Council of the City of Evanston,
• hereby directs the City Manager to enter into an agreement with the Evanston
Community Development Corporation based on the aforementioned decision.
