HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1976-054-R-7654-R-76 RESOLUTION Authorizing the Amendment of the City's Application • for Community Development Block Grant Funds WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council, with the passage of City Resolution 9-R-76, did approve an application for Community Development Block Grant entitlement funds and did direct the City Manager to file said application with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban'Development; and WHEREAS, the City's application was approved on June 24, 1976 by said U. S. Department; and WHEREAS, the City's application contains a Community Development program which directs that $18,000 will be made available to rehabilitate the building at 1817 Church Street into a neighborhood center; and WHEREAS, the Community Development Committee has received estimates from the architectural firm of Siso/Lubotsky which states that the actual rehabi- litation cost of said building will be between $55,000 and $60,000; and WHEREAS, the Community Development Committee, after notifying the public • in accordance with the City's Citizen Participation Plan, has approved an amendment to the City's application which would make the necessary funds avail- able for said rehabilitation; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council 'of the City of Evanston hereby amends its second year Community Development Grant application by increasing the 1817 Church Street Rehabilitation account from $18,000 to $38,000 and eliminating the Church/Dodge streetscape project. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Evanston hereby states its intention to use whatever part necessary of its Unspecified Local Option account to fund the deficit between the revised 1817 Church Street. Rehabilitation account and the actual cost of construction.
