HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1976-046-R-76i i r s 7-20-76 46-R-76 RESOLUTION Establishing a Review Policy for Paving of Streets to Determine if Any Flooding Will Result WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council has established the Flood and.Pollution Control Commission to deal with matters relating to various storm drainage problems; and WHEREAS, paving of certain streets and alleys may create new or aggravate s existing sewer flooding problems; and WHEREAS, the City of Evanston is proposing a sewer improvement program which if implemented will require excavation of various streets; and WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council has encouraged the paving of the existing unpaved streets and alleys; and WHEREAS, it may be determined by an engineering analysis that certain streets and alleys can be paved with limited adverse effect on flooding problems: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, that all streets and alley paving proposals be submitted to the Flood and Pollution Control*Commission to determine the pos- sible impact of said paving on present sewer flooding problems and to determine if said paving will conflict with expected .future sewer improvements. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the appropriate City staff review all paving petitions' in this context and make recommendations to the Flood and Pollution Control Commission for report to the City Council.
