RESOLUTION Target Area Beautification I! j� WHEREAS, the Evanston City Council, with the passage of City Resolution i 19-R-76, did approve an application for Community Development Block Grant f entitlement funds and did direct the City Manager to file said application 1 i:with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD); and II WHEREAS, said application contains a Community Development Program which lists the proposed activities to be funded by the City's entitlement grant; and WHEREAS, said U.S. Department did declare three of the proposed activities ',!;included in the City's Program to be ineligible and did transmit its decision ti !,to the City in letters dated May 26, 1976, and June 3, 1976; and i WHEREAS, the Community Development Committee has notified the public of HHUD's decision and, in compliance with the City's Citizen Participation Plan, 4 Chas held two meetings to discuss substitute projects; and t WHEREAS, the Community Development Committee has unanimously agreed that a s t � t "Target Area Beautification" project, which would finance construction of side- t $;walks, curbs and gutters, and tree planting in Evanston's target area, should (replace the ineligible projects in the City's Community Development Program; land i� WHEREAS, the Community Development Committee unanimously agreed that the 4i("Target Area Beautification" project should be funded using the proposed dollar !i i ;amounts budgeted for the ineligible activities, $39,000, and the unobligated i ;:dollars which remain in the City's first year program, $14,000. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Evanston City Council revises its ' ;}; t 'second year.Community Development Block Grant application deleting the s !Emergency Housing Program, the Latino Ombudsman, and the Probation Outreach f! t; j; Worker and substituting in their place said "Target Area Beautification" ac- i+,tivity with a budget of $53,000.
