RESOLUTION
8-R-76
WHEREAS, this is the 25th Anniversary of "BRILLIANTEEN;" and
WHEREAS, "BRILLIANTEEN" is the annual production of a musical
play by Evanston high school students who participate in the Evanston
Y.M.C.A.; and
WHEREAS, this yearly event is enjoyed by playgoers, both young
and old; and
WHEREAS, adults who love theatre and young people devote countless
hours every year to produce, direct, and provide support services to
"BRILLIANTEEN;" and
WHEREAS, youthful creativeness is manifest.in exuberant perform-
ances backed by original costumes and scenery; and
WHEREAS, during this quarter of a century, more than 3,000 Evanston
high school juniors and seniors have been a part of "BRILLIANTEEN;" and
WHEREAS, former Alderman William E. Harper was for many years
intimately associated with "BRILLIANTEEN," as have so many other community
leaders:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City
of Evanston does congratulate the Evanston Y.M.C.A. and the cast and
staff of "BRILLIANTEEN" on its 25th year; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of Evanston applauds
the 1976 "BRILLIANTEEN" production.of "Dames at Sea;" and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the City Council of Evanston looks for-
ward to continuing seasons of "BRILLIANTEEN" to bring joy to our community.

MUNICIPALITY UNDER THE ILLONOIS HIGHWAY CODE
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the
(Council or President and hoard of Trustees)
City Evanston
"'f Illinois', that there is hereby

appropriated the sum of
315' 000.00 of Motor Fuel Tax funds for the purpose of maintaining

streets and highways unddr the applicable provisions of the Illinois Highway Code, from January 1, 19
to December 31, 19 76 .
BE IT. FURTHER RESOLVED, that only those streets, highways, and operations as listed and described
on the approved Municipal Estimate of Maintenance Costs, including supplemental or revised estimates ap-
proved in connection with this resolution, are eligible for maintenance with Motor Fuel Tax funds during the
period as specified above.
BE IS FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk shall,, as soon as practicable after the close of the period
as given above, submit to the Department of Public Works and Buildings, Division of Highways, on forms
fur�r)ished by said Department, a certified statement showing expenditures from and balances remaining in
the account(s) for this period; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk shall immediately transmit two certified copies of this
resolution to the district office of the Department of Public Works and Buildings, Division of Highways, at
• -Schaumburg .
