HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1977-036-R-776/10/77 36-R-77 A RESOLUTION Canvassing The Results Of The Special Election Held On June 7, 1977, And Declaring The Results Of Said Election WHEREAS, on the Seventh day of June, 1977 a Special election was held in and for the Second Ward of the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois, for the purpose of electing an Alderman for such Ward, to serve the unexpired term of Arnold F. Winfield who resigned; and WHEREAS, said election was specially called in the manner provided by law; and o • WHEREAS the election returns were made by election Judges to the Municipal Clerk and have been presented to the City Council and examined by it; and WHEREAS, notice of said election was duly published in accordance with law; and WHEREAS, the Judges of election were duly qualified and sworn: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Evanston finds that the special election to fill the unexpired term of • Alderman for the Second Ward of said City was conducted and held as provided by law. • • K] 36-R-77 SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Evanston finds from the returns of said election and canvass- thereof, that the following votes were cast for the candidates indicated: -2- I 36-R-77 • SECTION 3: That by reason of said vote the City Council declares Curtis Heaston to have been duly elected to serve the unexpired term of Alderman for the Second Ward of the City of Evanston.
