Pittsford departed this life on December 31, 1976; and WHEREAS, James F. Pittsford was an alderman and a prominent resident of the City of Evanston who gave unselfishly of himself as a member of the City Council of the City of Evanston during the years 1971 to 1975; and • WHEREAS, during his tenure as Alderman, he served as a member of the Committee on Committees, the Waste Collection Committee, the Long Term Care Committee, the Community Development Act Committee, the City -School Liason Com- mittee, the Unified Budget Committee, the Special Committee to Consider the Need For an Allied Arts Council, as chairman of the Capital Improvements Com- mittee, as chairman and member of the Human Services Committee, and as Mayor Pro Tempore; and WHEREAS, he was instrumental in formulating and executing plans for improved economic development and capital improvements for the City of Evanston; and WHEREAS, he served the citizens of his ward, as well as the citizens of the entire City, giving most liberally of his time, energy and ability; • and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston, desires to pay tribute to James F. Pittsford: • NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Evanston, on behalf of itself, the Mayor, City Manager, City Officials, and residents of this community, expresses its heartfelt grief and sense of loss at the passing of James F. Pittsford; BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this Resolution be prepared and presented to the members of his bereaved family. 0 ATTEST: Is/ Mairie- F.
