HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1978-036-R-78• is fj y' 8/9/7s i 4 1 36-R-7$ A RESOLUTION 11 �f Authorizing The City Manager r To .Apply For Land And Water i Conservation Program Funds WHEREAS, the Department of Interior, Bureau of Outdoor Recreation's ` Land and Water Conservation Fund Program (Public Law 38-573) provides finan- cial assistance to local governments for development of outdoor recreation resources; and WHEREAS, the City of Evanston is interested in developing public recreation lands as described in its application to Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston budgeted SEVENTY- FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($75,000.00) to complete any project so that it may then become eligible for a Land and Water Conservation Fund reimbursement grant of up to fifty percent (50%) of the actual project cost; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Evanston hereby approve the filing of an application for Land and Water Conservation Fund financial assistance for Phase III development of Lovelace Park in the amount of THIRTY-SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($37,500.00). • ji SECTION 2: That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to act on behalf of the City of Evanston to file the application with the Department of Conservation, State of Illinois, and to pro- I`vide all information and documentation required in said application. 1 I, • 36-R-78 SECTION 3: That the City of Evanston will comply with the Uniform Relocation and Real Property Assistance Act (PL 91-646), Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (PL 83-352) and all applicable State and Federal regulations. j SECTION 4: That the City of Evanston will maintain the completed project in an attractive, inviting and safe manner and i will keep the facilities open to the general public during reasonable hours consistent with the type of facility. SECTION 5: That the City of Evanston will obtain from the State of Illinois, Department of Conservation, approval in writing for any change or conversion of the planned outdoor recreation use of the project site, and that such approval will be received prior to the usage change.
