MNCIS LEUNARD BACON had been I� principal of the Evanston High School for twenty years and was nationally known as an educator, having served schools in Kansas. Oklahoma and New England, and as president of the jDepartment of Secondary education of the national Education I Association, and while in Evanston had received special recognition for his services to the Chamber of Commerce, the Y.M.C.A., the Boy Scouts and the Rotary Club of which he was ! ; president in 1955. and had also served -as a member of the Evanston Plan Commission and held office in the Family Welfare Association, the Council of Social Agencies. the Community + "� Chest and the University Club+ and I •' WHEREAS.- Evanston citizens are aware of the ( a: ;i significant contributions shade by him and his unselfish � i! devotion in behalf of the City of Evanston: and { !'
