HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1962-010-R-6210-R-62 V` • R E S O L U T I O N Authorizing Emergency Appropriation of` $5,000 for Dutch Elm Disease Control Purposes WHEREAS, Chapter 24, paragraph 8-1-6 of the Illinois Revised Statutes, 1961, provides that additional appropriations may be made to "suppress or prevent the spread of disease, or to prevent or remove imminent danger to persons or property"; and WHEREAS, the number of Dutch elm disease cases identified in the City of Evanston to date in 1962 constitutes, in the opinion of this body, a threat to property of such nature and degree as to constitute an emergency which requires that additional tree spraying work be undertaken during the 1962 fiscal year; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that an emergency appropriation in the amount of $5,000 be and hereby is authorized to increase the 1962 General Fund • appropriation for Agricultural and Botanical supplies (510.301)9 which appropria- tion account is charged with the cost of spray materials, from $10,000 to $15,000; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the additional tree care expenditures herein authorized be financed from General Fund miscellaneous revenues, and that the Finance Director and Comptroller be and hereby is authorized and directed to increase by $5,000 the estimates for miscellaneous revenues where financial results to date indicate that actual revenues will exceed the revenue estimates set forth in the 1962 budget. /s/ Otto R.
