R E S O L U T I O N
TMEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston, under Docket 72-6C.-W,
•
hate urged that
the City Government and two School Districts work
togrother,to plan
and coordinate
taxing and borrowing programs affecting Evanston
taxpayers, and,
WHEREAS, consultation and cooperation between City Government and School
Districts is also necessary in fields such as parks and recreation, police activi-
ties, health, traffic control, and the planning, development, and conservation of
our community; and,

WHEREAS, the two School Districts have jointly financed a study by Engelhardt,
Engelhardt R, Leggett that will provide a basis for a comprehensive school construction
program, which program will serve as a basis for programming tax rate and borrow—
ing needs in future years; and,
WIIEREAS, a continuing arrangement is needed so that officials of the City
Government and the two School Boards confer on a regular basis to achieve community
financial 7,-Jination and better coordination in other fields of community concern:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Evanston propose to the Boards of School District 65 and Evanston Township High
School District 202 that a City --School Liaison Committee ccmposed of three members
from the legislative body of each unit be formed, and that this committee be
assisted by staff manbe--s from the three units; and
BE IT FL.M :p %E,90;.tiED that the Mayor, with the advice and consent of the
City Council, appoint three aldermen to serve on this liaison committee and that one
alderman shall be selected from each of the three standing council committees.
