RESOLUTION
• WHEREAS, we have been thoroughly informed by our represent-
ative on the North Suburban Council on Refuse Disposal regarding
the proposed operation under the contract by Lake Land Fill, Inc.
of a sanitary land fill for refuse disposal on lands owned
respectively by the Society of the Divine Word and the Missionary
Sisters, Servants of the Holy Spirit, situated between Willow and
Techny Roads immediately east of the intersection of the rights -
of -way of the Chicago Milwaukee and St. Paul and North Western
Railroads; and
WHEREAS, we believe that this project has been well -
engineered and that it will be so conducted under the rigid
requirements of the contract as not to be detrimental to residents
who may live nearby; and
WHEREAS, we are convinced that this land fill will consti-
tute a very welcome and
needed addition
to the
refuse disposal
facilities in the North
Suburban area,
readily
available to the
municipalities and private contractors in this area; and
WHEREAS, the Village Boards of Wilmette, Kenilworth, Win-
netka, Glencoe, Skokie, and City Councils of Des Plaines and
Highland Park have already adopted resolutions in connection
herewith:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of
the City of Evanston favors this project and urges the Zoning
Board of Appeals of Cook County to grant the change in zoning
necessary to permit the establishment of the proposed land fill.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be instructed
• to transmit a copy of this resolution to the Zoning Board of
Appeals of Cook County.
