RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Chief of Engineers by letter dated 3 March 196%
approved a project for Grosse Point Park, Evanston, Illinois as set
forth in House Document No. 159, 89th Oongreas, lot Session; and
WHEREAS, completion of the project will be a Public Improvement
for the benefit of and in the interest of the People of the State of
33. inois; and
AREAS, the City of Evanston a public agency is Ompovered by
Laws of the State of Illinois to enter into agreement with agencies
of the United States; and .
WHEREAS, the City of Evanston is willing to undertake and satisfy.
the prescribed conditions of the local coqperation and has the legal
authority and financial ability to do so, and to give its assurances
to the United States,
NOW., be it resolved that the City of Evanston does
hereby grant and convey its assurances to the United States that it
wills
a. Dear all cost of the work in excess of the Federal con-
tribution (70 percent of the project cost);
b. Provide without cost to the,United States all necessary
land, easements and rights -of -ray;
c. Hold and save the United States free from damages due. to
the construction work;
d. Maintain all the works after completion in accordance
with regulations prescribed by the Secretary of the Army;
e. Maintain during the economic life of the project continued
public ovnership and administration for public use of publicly ovued
shores upon which the recommended Federal participation is based;
f. Maintain at the Grosse Point Park beach condition -d at
will exel."e permanent human babitation Including summer residencesp

preserve the natural protection features of the beach and inshore lands

and provide essentially full park facilities for appropriate public use
,
including a suitable recreational beach, all of Which shall meet with
• the approval of the Chief of Engineers;
go Provide appurtenant facilities required for realization .,
of recreational benefits;
h. Control eater pollution to the extent necessary`
to safe- 4
` n guard -the health of bathers; and 's i
i. Obtain approval of the Chief of Engineers, prior to
.' commencement of work, of detailed plans. and specifications, and arrange-
ments for prosecuting the work. t
BE IT r uninti-n RESOLVED, that the City IKanager be and is hereby
authorized, designated and instructed on behalf of the City of Evanston �
to sign such documents, do and perform such acts as may be necessary to
carry out the acts of this resolution. A

ACCEPTANCE OF ASSURANCES
The assurances contained in the foregoing Resolution of the
City of Evanston for ,the, improvement of Grosse Point Park, Evanston
•
Illinois are hereby accepted for and on behalf of the United States,
