HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESOLUTIONS-1967-012-R-6711V WHEREAS, the Planning and Conservation Department has made a study of properties in the area bounded by Cleveland Street., Oakton Street, Dodge Avenue, and Florence Avenue to identify properties where off-street parking facilities re- quired by the zoning ordinance have not been provided or have been illegally eliminated; and WHEREAS, t-heir report on this subject, dated October 21, 1966 and appended hereto, identifies 13 properties where it is infeasible to supply parking, either because there is no alley • access and insufficient space for a joint driveway between adjacent houses, or because there is no alley access and a required parking space could only be installed with the coopera- tion of a neighbor who is not himself in violation; and WHEREAS, the owners of these 13 properties must appeal for legal relief to the Zoning Board of Appeals, and the City Council desires to facilitate their appeals and minimize the inconvenience and expense for these owners by combining their appeals for hearing on May 16, 1967: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Evanston, Illinois, hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager and Director of Building to make the necessary arrangements for a joint hearing.for the 13 property owners re- ferred to herein and to waive the customary filing•fee; and fl r •-r- y, . r BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the same arrangements and fee waiver shall apply to any other property owners who,by subsequent action of the City Council, are permitted to join in the May 16, 1967 joint appeal or any subsequent joint appeals set to serve substantially similar purposes.
