RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, School District 65 has achieved a high level
of educational excellence for the children of the district over
a number of years; and
WHEREAS, that tradition of excellence deserves and
vitally needs continued support, evidenced by community will-
ingness to provide adequate funds and assistance to the schools;
and
WHEREAS, it has been shown that additional funds are
needed for continued teaching excellence and updating of out-
moded school equipment and facilities; and
WHEREAS, the excellence of our schools not only helps
shape the future of the children involved but greatly bears
upon the value of homes and businesses and the life of the
community as a whole:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council
of the City of Evanston, Illinois, hereby endorses and supports
the special school referendum to be held on November 23rd and
urges affirmative voting on the propositions of increasing
School District 651s educational fund tax rate by 19t and
establishing a capital improvements fund of 6� for six years.
