RESOLUTION
Amending Rule 41 and Rule 45 of the
Rules and Order of Business of the City
Council of the City of Evanston
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That Rule 41 of the Rules and Order
of Business of the City Council of
the City of Evanston, adopted by the City Council on May 18,
1959, as amended, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"RULE 41: The following shall be the Standing Committees
of the City Council:
1. Administration and Public Works Committee
2. Human Services Committee
3. Planning and Development Committee"
SECTION 2: That Rule 45 of the Rules and Order
of Business of the City Council of
the City of Evanston, adopted by the City Council on May 18,
1959, as amended, is hereby.amended to read as follows:
"RULE 45: Matters not specifically assigned or referred
by action of the City Council shall be con-
sidered by respective Standing Committees, according to
jurisdiction herein defined as follows:
(a) ADMINISTRATION AND PUBLIC 'WORKS COVIMITTEE
All matters relating to finance; legal;
personnel; public works including streets
and alleys, lighting, refuse disposal,
water and sewers, traffic control, parking,
and public buildings; public transportation,
and public utilities.

(b) HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE
All matters relating to health; police;
fire; civil defense; human relations,
including liaision with Community Relations
Commission; youth programs, including liaison
with Youth Commission; libraries, including
liaison with Public Library Board; recrea-
tion, including liaison with Recreation Board;
general assistance, including liaison with the
Town of the City of Evanston; safety, including
liaison with Evanston Safety Council; and liaison
with school districts, U.S. Office of Economic
Opportunity bodies, United Communities Services
and associated agencies, and other governmental
and private agencies rendering human services
within the City.
(c) PLANNING AND DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE
All matters relating to planning; physical
development; zoning; building; conservation,
and parks.."
SECTION 3: This resolution shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage
in the manner provided by law.
