Section 1392 of the Building Code requires such signs to be "constructed of metal and glass..and ..watertight against sleet, snow or rain." The matter has been discussed with Assistant Chie Mersch of the Fire Department, who has indicated that in his opinion the fire hazard inherent in a lumber yard would be reduced rather than increased by the erection of the proposed shelter sheds.
