Watch Marge Anderson Wants everyone to stay at home during the COVID-19 crisis. Said that everyone should be thinking of the doctors, first responders, distribution workers and many others who continue to work during this emergency by putting their lives and health at risk for the public good. Watch Jean Supports having the stay-at-home order imposed beyond the April 7th date in order to support medical workers. Watch Kathleen Flaherty Wants the City to put a temporary halt to construction activity that is both (a) highly polluting (like roof replacements, parking lot resurfacing, etc.) and non-essential (e.g no active leaks). She suggested putting a freeze on permits for highly polluting, non-essential construction activity. Watch Joy Downey Appreciates Evanston's commitment to help everyone working from home by ceasing to write tickets for street cleaning violations due to COVID. For Discussion Watch Call of the Wards Ward 1: Thanked City staff and the Mayor for their response during this crisis. Suggested having a detailed page on the City of Evanston website regarding COVID-19. Watch Ward 2: Thanked Mayor Hagerty for his leadership and thanked City staff. Watch Ward 3: Praised the work being done by Mayor Hagerty and City staff. She said she has received several inquires from residents on how to volunteer to help during the COVID-19 crisis. Watch Ward 4: Thanked City staff for their hard work and asked everyone to continue to follow the guidelines to help curve the virus. Watch Ward 5: Thanked everyone for their hard work and leadership. Watch Ward 6: Encouraged everyone to remain safe and thanked everyone for their hard work.
