HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1991-123-O-9112/3/91 12/18/91 • 123-0-91 AN ORDINANCE Granting a Variation and Special Use at 1714 Hinman Avenue WHEREAS, the Evanston Zoning Board of Appeals conducted a public hearing on November 19, 1991, upon the application of the Sigma Chi Foundation and the Sigma Chi Fraternity for a variation from the gross lot coverage regulations of the Zoning Ordinance and for a special use to permit construction of a rear entry addition, exterior stairs, and a material lift on the property located at 1714 Hinman Avenue, an R5A General Residence District; said public hearing having been conducted pursuant to notice and publication thereof . in the manner provided by law; and WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals has recommended that the application for the aforesaid variation and special use be granted; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That, based upon the evidence and testimony presented at the hearing, and upon deliberations and findings of fact contained in the transcript of the Zoning Board of Appeals Case No. 91-30-V&SU(R), upon the application of the Sigma Chi Foundation and the Sigma Chi Fraternity for a variation from the gross lot coverage regulations of the Zoning Ordinance and for a special use to 123-0-91 • permit construction of a rear entry addition, exterior stairs, and a material lift, for the property located at 1714 Hinman Avenue, in an R5A Residence District, and legally described as follows: LOT 13 EXCEPT THE SOUTH 18 FT., AND LOT 14 IN BLOCK 14 IN EVANSTON, SECTION 18, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 14 NORTH, EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN, IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, the variation and special use are granted, subject to compliance with all other provisions of the Zoning Ordinance, other applicable laws and the following conditions: 1. the proposed construction shall be in substantial compliance with the testimony presented and the plans filed in connection with this case; and 2. the existing wall sign on the east side of the building reading "Sigma Chi" shall be removed • prior to the issuance of any building permits for the project. SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
