HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1991-104-O-91104-0-91 AN ORDINANCE Authorizing the Sale of Personal Property Owned by the City of Evanston WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined that it is no longer necessary, practical or economical for the best interests of the City of Evanston to retain ownership of the personal property hereinafter described; and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council of the City of Evanston to sell said personal property • to the highest bidder submitting a bid to the City's Purchasing Department no later than 11:00 A.M., November 4, 1991; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON: SECTION 1: That Pursuant to Section 1-17-3(B) of the City Code of the City of Evanston, 1979, as amended, the City Council finds that the following described personal property has an aggregate value in excess of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500): YEAR 1978 Cadillac 1977 Cadillac 1981 Oldsmobile 1981 Saab • MODEL Sedan De Ville Sedan De Ville Cutlass Hatchback • SECTION 2: Pursuant to said Section 1-17-3(B), the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to sell upon terms and conditions he deems reasonable, necessary, and in the best interests of the City the aforedescribed personal property now owned by the City of Evanston to the. highest bidder submitting a bid to the City's Purchasing Agent, 2100 Ridge Avenue, Evanston, IL 60201 no later than 11:00 A.M., November 4, 1991. SECTION 3: The City Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the Purchasing Agent to advertise the sale of the aforementioned personal property in a newspaper having a general circulation within the City before November 1, 1991. • SECTION 4: The City Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the Purchasing Agent to enter into an agreement for the sale of said personal property. SECTION 5: Upon payment of the price indicated in the successful bid, the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to convey evidence of ownership to the aforesaid property to the successful bidder(s). SECTION 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. • -2- SECTION 7: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
