HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1993-084-O-937/14/93 84-0-93 AN ORDINANCE Amending Title 3, Chapter 5 of the Evanston Liquor Regulations Relating to Sales to Minors NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: That Section 3-5-11(A) of the Evanston City Code of 1979, as amended, be and hereby is further amended by separating it into two paragraphs, as follows, with appropriate renumbering of subsequent paragraphs: 3-5-11: SALES TO MINORS, CERTAIN PERSONS RESTRICTED: (A) No licensee or officer, associate, member, representative, agent, or employee of such licensee shall sell, give, or deliver alcoholic liquor to any person under the age of twenty-one (21) years, nor to any intoxicated person, nor to any person known by him or her to be under legal disability or in need of mental treatment. (B) No person, after purchasing or otherwise obtaining alcoholic liquor, shall sell, give or deliver such alcoholic liquor to another person under twenty-one (21) years of age except in the performance of a religious ceremony or service. SECTION 2: That existing Section 3-5-11(B), having been renumbered as 3-5-11(C) as provided for above, is hereby revised as follows: 3-5-11: (C) It shall be unlawful for any person under the age of twenty-one (21) to misrepresent his age for the purpose of purchasing or obtaining alcoholic liquor in any place in the City where alcoholic liquor is sold or served. 84-0-93 SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. SECTION 4: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
