HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1994-054-O-94• 54-0-94 AN ORDINANCE Fj Authorizing the Sale of Personal Property Owned by the City of Evanston WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Evanston has determined that it is -no longer necessary, practical or economical for the best interests of the City of Evanston to retain ownership of the personal property hereinafter described: and WHEREAS, it has been determined by the City Council of the City of Evanston to sell said personal property to the highest bidder following advertisement in a local newspaper during the week of May 26, 1994 and a bid opening to be held on June 7, 1994; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON: . SECTION 1: That Pursuant to Section 1-17-3(B) of the City Code of the City of Evanston, 1979, as amended, the City Council finds that the following described personal property has an aggregate value in excess of one thousand five hundred dollars ($1,500): Police Department Dictaphone Recorder Model 5500 20 Channel Recordinq System with Tapes SECTION 2: Pursuant to said Section 1-17-3(B), the City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to sell upon terms and conditions he deems reasonable, necessary, and in the best interests of the City the aforedescribed personal property now owned by the City of Evanston, after advertising for bids, at a bid opening to be held at the Evanston Civic Center on Tuesday, June 7, 1994 at 11:00 A.M. to the highest bidder on said property. SECTION 3: The City Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the Purchasing Agent to advertise the sale of the aforementioned personal property • in a newspaper having a general circulation within the City before the date of said bid opening. SECTION 4: The City Manager is hereby authorized and may direct the • Purchasing Agent to enter into an agreement for the sale of said personal • property. SECTION 5: Upon payment of the price indicated in the successful bid, the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to convey evidence of ownership to the aforesaid property to the successful bidder(s). SECTION 6: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
