AN ORDINANCE
Amending Section 3-5-1 of the
Evanston City Code Relating to
Definition of "Applicant" for a
Liquor License
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION 1: That Section 3-5-1 of Title 3, Chapter 5 of
the Evanston City Code of 1979, as amended, be and it hereby is
further amended by adding to the definition of "applicant" and by
defining "combination store", as follows:
Section 3-5-1: Applicant:
An individual, copartnership or corporation which seeks to
be licensed under the provisions of this Chapter. In the
case of a club, "applicant" shall mean the officers,
directors, and person operating as manager, and in the case
of a corporation, it shall mean the officers, directors, all
persons owning directly or beneficially more than five
percent (5%) of the stock of such corporation and the person
operating as manager of the premises. (Ord. 108-0-71). In
the case of a combination grocery/drug store, "applicant"
shall mean the officers, directors, all persons owning
directly or beneficially more than five percent (50) of the
stock of the entity having charge of the licensed premises
and the person(s) operating as manager(s) of the premises.
Combination Drua/Grocery Store:
A store with affiliated drug and grocery companies managing
a combination drug and grocery store as a single store under
one roof.
SECTION 2: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

SECTION 3: This ordinance shall be in full force
and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication
in the manner provided by law.
