HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1994-018-O-943/4/94 • 18-0-94 AN ORDINANCE Amending the Text of Section 6-18-3 of the Zoning Ordinance to Revise the Definition of "Through Lot" WHEREAS, section 6-3-4 of the Zoning Ordinance provides a procedure for amending the text of the Zoning Ordinance; and WHEREAS, pursuant to that procedure, the Plan Commission held a public hearing on February 9, 1994 pursuant to proper notice on case no. ZPC 93-6(T), a reference from the City Council to consider a text amendment to section 6-18-3, the definition of "through lot"; and WHEREAS, the Plan Commission found that the definition • needed clarification and recommended amendatory language to the City Council; and NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Evanston, Cook County, Illinois: SECTION 1: Pursuant to section 6-3-4-5 of the Zoning Ordinance, the City Council hereby amends the definition of "through lot" in section 6-13-18 by deleting the existing wording and substituting therefor: "Lot, Through: A lot with lot lines on two streets, that is not a corner lot. All street lot lines shall be deemed front lot lines". SECTION 2: The City Council finds that the definitional revision is needed because not all through lots are is located between "substantially parallel" streets. 18-0-94 0 • • • • SECTION 3: The City Council further finds pursuant to section 6-3-4-5, that a) the proposed amendment is consistent with the goals, objectives, and policies of the Comprehensive General Plan, b) that this is a change made without reference to a particular property, and that the change will have no effect on the adequacy of public facilities and services. SECTION 4: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
