HomeMy WebLinkAboutORDINANCES-1998-073-O-98• 07/09/98 73-0-98 AN ORDINANCE Granting a Special Use to Friendship Baptist Church for Expansion to an Existing Religious Institution Use at 2201 Foster Street and for an Expansion of Said Religious Institution Use to 2203 Foster Street WHEREAS, the Zoning Board of Appeals ("ZBA") held a public hearing on June 16, 1998 pursuant to proper notice on the application of Friendship Baptist Church, property owner, case no. ZBA 98-13-SU(R), for a special use to allow expansion of an existing religious institution use at 2201 Foster Street, expansion of said religious institution use to 2203 Foster Street, and reduction from twenty to five of the parking spaces required for said use, all in an R3 Two -Family Residential District; and WHEREAS, the ZBA, after hearing testimony and receiving other evidence, made written findings pursuant to section 6-3-5-10 of the Zoning Ordinance, that the application met the standards for special uses, and recommended that the City Council grant the application; and WHEREAS, the Planning and Development Committee of the City Council considered the aforesaid application at its July 13, 1998 meeting and recommended City Council approval thereof, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EVANSTON, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: 1 73-0-98 - 07/09/98 0 SECTION 1: That the City Council adopts the findings and recommendation of the ZBA and the recommendation of the Planning and Development Committee and hereby grants the aforedescribed application of Friendship Baptist Church in case no. ZBA 98-13-SU(R) on property commonly known as 2201 and 2203 Foster Street, and legally described as follows: LOTS 1 AND 2 IN MCCORMICK-PARK SUBDIVISION OF LOTS 3 & 4 IN CIRCUIT COURT PARTITION OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF SECTION 13, TOWNSHIP 41 NORTH, RANGE 13 EAST OF THE THIRD PRINCIPAL MERIDIAN (EXCEPT RIGHT OF WAY OF SANITARY DISTRICT CANAL RUNNING IN THE NORTHEASTERLY DIRECTION THROUGH THE SOUTH 21 ACRES OF SAID QUARTER OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER) IN COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS. SECTION 2: That pursuant to section 6-3-5-12 of the Zoning Ordinance, which • provides that the City Council may attach conditions to the grant of a special use, these conditions are hereby imposed: (A.) Construction, maintenance, and operation of the aforesaid special use shall be in substantial compliance with the plans as approved, and with. any oral or written representations of the applicant. (B.) The aforesaid grant of special use is subject to compliance with all applicable provisions of the Zoning Ordinance and all other applicable legislation. SECTION 3: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
